Diesel/Automotive Gas Oil

Diesel/ Automotive Gas oil

As the regulations around the production, trading and distribution of diesel and fuel oil products strengthen, it is important to choose a lab that has years of experience testing for this industry. As an ISO 17025 accredited lab, we provide diesel fuel testing (including biodiesel ) that meets your country's specifications.

We can help test composites to ensure your production is optimised, be part of your Quality Assurance processes or help with a fuel monitoring program once the product has reached the market. We test to internationally recognised test methods such as ASTM, IP, BS EN and much more.
Testing includes:

- Appearance
- Cetane Number and Cetane Index
- Cloud Point
- Cold Filter Plugging Point
- Colour
- Conductivity
- Distillation
- Filter Blocking Tendency
- Flash Point
- Oxidation Stability
- Particulate Contamination
- Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons
- Total Acid Number
- Viscosity
- Water Content
We provide a complete range of diesel/AGO (including biodiesel) testing for refiners, traders, distributors, terminal storage facilities and gas stations following internationally recognised testing standards.

FAQs

  • What is diesel/automotive gas oil made of?

Diesel or Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) is made from a mixture of heavy, light, hydro-cracked and de-sulphurised gas oils that result from the refining of crude products.

  • What is diesel/automotive gas oil used for?

It is manufactured mainly for automotive use but can also be utilised in diesel turbines for electricity production, railways, the marine industry and heating and furnace applications. As cross-mixing and water can contaminate the fuel, the most common diesel testing required is investigating contamination.
